PW101 Co-Hosts Adam Curtis and Diamond Dale Mills opened the show to talk about the upcoming main event between Martin Kirby and Martin Stone in addition to the news that Steve Corino would be returning to the Doncaster Dome in November.
Match 1 - 101 Tornado Elimination Scramble Match
“Superstylin” Sam Bailey vs. “The Juice” CJ Banks vs. Danny Hope vs. Kris Travis
--PW101 opened up with this huge four way elimination scramble match and what a way it was to kick off the very first show. It seemed that at the start of the match Juice didn’t want anything to do with anyone else in the match and stayed outside the ring, however he was soon taken out by Bailey with a tremendous dive through the second rope! The first elimination came at 5:58 when Kris Travis nailed Danny Hope with the Ego Trip and pinned him for the three count. The second elimination came a little less than two minutes later at 7:50. As Travis was out on the canvas Juice took out Bailey and nailed him with the Frog Splash before covering him and eliminating him. So the very first 101 match came down to Travis and Juice, both men wanted the win badly and each gained several near falls over the other but it was Juice that got the win after hitting his second Frog Splash of the night, this time on Travis. Juice gets the win at 10:13.
Winner – “The Juice” CJ Banks
Following the win Banks left, leaving Travis still at ringside. Travis was visibly upset, kicking chairs around on the outside. As this was going on Adam Curtis introduced Martin Kirby, as Kirby made his way to the ring he crossed paths with his tag team partner Kris Travis. Kirby and Travis exchanged some words before eventually hugging; Travis then left as Kirby got in to the ring.
Kirby got on the microphone and talked about his opponent for Brave New World Martin Stone. Kirby was cut off by Stone’s music, Stone came out and headed to the ring, he gave Kirby the opportunity to just leave and said if he didn’t he would rip Kirby’s head off. Kirby declined Stone’s offer to leave, Stone then floored Kirby with a huge punch and tossed him out the ring before leaving.
Match 2 – Two On One Handicap Match
Keith Myatt & Sykes vs. Aaron James
--This was supposed to be a tag team match also involving Aaron’s good friend Gary Player but Player was nowhere to be found so Head Of Talent Relations Dale Mills gave James two choices, either leave and never appear in 101 again or wrestle two on one, Aaron chose the latter. Aaron and Keith started, they got in to a good chain wrestling battle which displeased Sykes who shouted to Keith that “This isn’t world of sport”. Sykes then tagged himself in and showed more aggression towards Aaron than Keith did and tried to beat Aaron down but Aaron held his own against the bigger Sykes. Keith blind tagged himself back in and once again wrestles with Aaron, it’s clear at this point that Keith and Aaron have a lot of respect for each other. Once again though Sykes tags himself in and goes to town on Aaron, he managed to take Aaron down and lock him in a modified dragon sleeper, the pain got too much for James who had no choice but to tap out at 8:45
Winners – Sykes & Keith Myatt
After the match Keith got Sykes away from Aaron and tried to help Aaron back up but ended up getting attacked from behind. Keith fought back before challenging Sykes for right there right then, referee Milky Bell rings the bell and the match is on!
Match 3 – Impromptu Singles Match
Keith Myatt vs. Sykes
--The crowd were clearly behind Keith in this impromptu singles contest but it was Sykes who took control for most part of it. Keith however managed to fight back and take it to Sykes before nailing him with a stunner but the stunner wasn’t enough to put Sykes away. Keith then went for a DDT but Sykes countered by holding the ropes causing Keith to smack the back of his head hard on the canvas. Skyes then wasted no time in locking the same move on Keith that he used on Aaron earlier, Keith then tapped out to the hold at 7:14
Winner – Sykes
After the match Keith’s son Ryan hit the ring to check on his dad as Sykes backed away from the ring. Ryan then helped Keith up and the two headed to the backstage area. We then heard Dale’s phone ring.
On the other end of the phone was apparently Gary Player who had a chat with Dale, Dale told Gary that Aaron tapped out so he didn’t miss much. Dale then told Gary that if he had girls to pleasure it was ok that he didn’t turn up.
Match 4 – Singles Match
“Money Makin’” Mo Montana vs. Jason Genesis
--Before the match started Mo got on the microphone and told the fans that he is a self made millionaire and berated the fans, Jason then hit the ring and the match got under way. The match went back and fourth as the crowd taunted Mo with “Hannah Montana” chants which didn’t please Mo one bit. The two continued to battle, as Jason went for the Genesis Driver Montana countered in to a roll up and pinned Jason in 7:35.
Winner – Mo Montana
After the match Montana wasn’t done, he took some sort of dubious white powdered substance from his jacket and threw it in to the eyes of Jason before hooking Genesis up and nailing him with the move he calls Flat Broke.
Following that Dale Mills headed to the ring to introduce the next match, he then introduced Matt Slater as the first member of The Diamond Exchange and told Matt that he had found an opponent that would test him, that opponent was Robbie X
Just as the match was about to get underway Dale got the microphone again and said that he almost forgot that there was another member of the Diamond Exchange, Dale then brings out the gargantuan Havok. Dale then said that Matt Slater and Havok, his Diamond Exchange were the future.
Match 5 – Singles Match
Matt Slater vs. Robbie X
--The bell rang and the match finally got underway. Slater dominated Robbie for the early part of the match while both DDM and Havok looked on from the outside. Robbie fought back and gained several near falls on Slater which seemed to get DDM worried but was relieved when Havok tripped Robbie allowing Slater to nail the Rights Of Resolution and pin Robbie for the three at 6:22
Winner – Matt Slater
After the match it seemed that The Diamond Exchange were not finished, Havok took Robbie down with a vicious, nasty clothesline which nearly split Robbie in two! But that wasn’t enough, Slater and Mills stretched Robbie out as Havok went to the second rope for a big splash. Thankfully before Havok could hit the splash the huge masked man Tiny hit the ring to help Robbie.
As Robbie was quickly helped to the back by the referee Dale challenged Tiny and Robbie X to face Slater and Havok. Adam Curtis motioned from the stage that Robbie was in no condition to wrestle another match, Dale then said that he would let Tiny team with anyone who wasn’t booked tonight to face The Diamond Exchange. Teeny then made his way to the ring.
Match 6 – Impromptu Tag Team Match
Teeny and Tiny vs. The Diamond Exchange (Matt Slater & Havok)
--It was clear that Slater and Havok weren’t prepared to see the highly unorthodox Teeny or Tiny in 101 this night. All hell ended up breaking loose and all four men ended up on the outside, referee Milky Bell reached a count of twenty and counted out both teams at 7:31
Winners – Double Countout
After the bell Dale slipped in the ring away from the brawl. Teeny slipped in behind him and shoved him in to the middle rope leaving Dale hanging, Teeny then looked to 619 Dale but Havok and Slater got to Dale before Teeny could hit the move.
After the intermission a familiar tune blasted over the sound system and out came “The Pukka One” Darren Burridge to a huge reception from the crowd. Burridge got in the ring and said that “Finally… The Pukka One Has Come Back To Doncaster” which again pleased the crowd.
Burridge talked about his career and that it was all about the fans that drew him back to wrestling, Burridge also said that he should be clear to return to the ring at around January next year, this pleased the Edlington crowd.
As Burridge got the first ever “101” chant started Joey Hayes headed to the ring to cut Burridge off but Burridge told Joey to “Shut Up You Slag!” Burridge then says that he used to respect Joey until Joey turned out the way he did.
Joey called Burridge a has-been to which Burridge called Joey a never would be, Burridge however agreed with Hayes and said that he is a has-been and that Darren Burridge was gone and would not return… Greg Burridge however would be returning
Burridge said that “Darren Burridge” was always made out to be a Chav and that that wasn’t him because Chavs are seen as having no respect to others, he said that he wanted to be true to himself and that Greg Burridge is being true to himself. Burridge then introduced Joey’s opponent, Terry Frazier
Match 7 – Singles Match
Joey Hayes vs. Terry Frazier
--Greg Burridge joined Adam Curtis on commentary for this singles contest. This was a very even contest with both men getting many near falls over the other, the crowd loved every second of it but they were clearly behind Terry Frazier and not the disrespectful Joey Hayes. Frazier looked to be on his way to beating Hayes but it was Hayes that got the win after putting his feet on the ropes and pinning Frazier at 13:42
Winner – Joey Hayes
As soon as the bell rang all the lights went out, when they came back on El Ligero was stood in the ring between Hayes and Frazier. After looking at both men El Ligero spat Mist in the face of Frazier before low blowing Joey Hayes and leaving the ring and leaving everyone confused!
Match 8 – Main Event
Martin Stone vs. Martin Kirby
--Not only would the winner of this qualify for the PW101 Championship tournament they would also go on to face Steve Corino in the Doncaster Dome on November 15th at A Perfect Twist Of Fate. Prior to the match starting Dale Mills decided to make it a no disqualification match, due to that the match didn’t take long to spill to the outside of the ring. The no DQ ruling clearly favoured Stone but Kirby used it to his advantage as well by throwing Stone in to chairs outside of the ring. The match then found its way back in to the ring where Stone did everything he could to put Kirby away including nailing him with a thunderous lariat and a vicious sickening DDT but despite all that Kirby continued to kick out. Stone continued the assault but Kirby wouldn’t stay down and was able to catch Stone with a small package and pin him for the three at 23:57
Winner – Martin Kirby
After the match Stone laid out Kirby and the referee before putting a carrier bag over the head of Kirby to try and suffocate him in a despicable act! Kris Travis hit the ring and stopped Stone from hurting his partner, however Travis turned on Kirby and started to put the boots in to him, this brought out Terry Frazier to try to stop the assault
Just as Frazier hit the ring Joey Hayes ran out from the back, Stone, Hayes and Travis continued assaulting Martin Kirby and Terry Frazier before Greg Burridge hit the ring with a chair which forced Stone, Travis and Hayes to flee the ring
It ended up Burridge and Kirby left in the ring, Burridge got on the microphone and gave Kirby his props and respect, he then asked all his Mother Pukkas to be behind Kirby when he faces Corino in the Doncaster Dome, the fans started to chant for Kirby as Brave New World came to a close
