4 Corners in Wrestling with Rob Raw

Postby Bernd Lorenz aka Tazzmaschine » 26.12.2011, 08:57

Hey Wrestlingjunkies ,
today we have on of the Honormembers of the Board and one of my personal Hero´s from Belgium back here in 4 Corners in Wrestling.
Please Welcome back The Ringwarrior Rob Raw.

Thank you Rob for your time for this Interview.
It's my pleasure Bernd ,anything for a friend and for the fans.

Rob you had lived your dream and go for a Tour to Japan. How was it for yourself to become the message for the Tour in SMASH Wrestling?
Well it was simply amazing. I heard about the try-out in the summer of 2010 and sent in my data (cv,pics and clips from youtube) with the idea ;you never know.... But not really expecting a lot from it. And on december 29 2010 (I'll never forget the date) I received an e-mail from SMASH congratulating me on my selection.I was stunned ! ! ! The eventual try-out date was set for april 8 at SMASH 16 but the disaster that struck Japan in march 2011 changed all that. A new date was set for october 28 at SMASH 22.Later they asked me if I could also do october 26 in Osaka. Offcourse ! ! !

At the first Night you and Michael Kovac from Austria standing in the Main Event against AKIRA & TAJIRI the former ECW/WWE Star. Can your share with us your feeling when you step the first time inside the hall in Osaka,Japan in a Main Event?
It was un-be-lie-va-ble; my tryout became a tour and on the first show I was in the main-event with all these big names,it became even more unreal when we won this hard fought battle.I was nervous but less than I expected and all went well.

In the Second Event in Tokio,Japan you team up one more time with Michael Kovac now against Genichiro Tenryu & Yusuke Kodama infront of over 1150 people. How was it to fight agianst a living Wrestling legend like Tenryu?
A little correction first Bernd ;there were officially 1550 spectators ,a full house. It does not get bigger than this for me ,wrestling in the legendary Korakuen Hall in Tokyo(which is like MSG for wrestling in NY) and haviing a former (officially recognized) World (IWGP & Triple Crown) Champion and living legend like Tenryu as one of my opponents.I didn't get to do a lot with him since my partner Kovac had a fued with him but it felt great. It sometimes still feels like I'm dreaming ,I have to pinch myself sometimes, yes I really did that.
Sorry ,my fault. On Cagematch.de was an other information :-)

At the last what would you say was the biggest experience for yourself and your personal highlight in Japan?
What I mentioned in the question before.
But it was actually one great trip ,seeing Tokio & some of Japan ,meeting all these great workers, fans, hanging out with the boys, the proffessional shows, the compliments I got from some big names ,etc...
.

Thank you Rob Raw and hope to see you soon back in a german ring my freind.

It is always great to read when European Wrestlers get the chance to show their talent in places like Japan, the USA or Mexico. So it`s very interesting to see that Rob Raw had the time of his life in Japan...so far
